Forest governance

EA is currently one of the partners implementing the CARE Forest Governance Programme which is supported by CARE International Uganda.  In this programme, Environmental Alert seeks to ensure an evidence based forestry policy advocacy engagement through, ‘Civil society coordination, networking and multi stakeholder collaboration that leads to a more inclusive management of forest resources in the Albertine Rift.’ As part of the process, EA established 5 sub-national ENR CSO Coalitions in Masindi, Kabarole, Hoima, Kiryandongo and Buliisa. Civil participation in forestry policy advocacy processes is coordinated through networking and capacity building of members of these civil society coalitions at sub-national levels, and members of the bigger ENR CSO network at National Level.
