Agriculture & Climate Change
Environmental Alert’s Agriculture and Climate Change Program promotes climate-smart agriculture to strengthen food security while addressing the impacts of climate change. We work with smallholder farmers, especially women and youth, to adopt sustainable practices such as soil and water conservation, agroforestry, and renewable energy solutions.
Our approach integrates livelihood diversification, value addition, and market access to build resilience and reduce vulnerability to climate shocks. Through community trainings, financial literacy, and advocacy for inclusive policies, we empower households and vulnerable communities to adapt and thrive amidst climate change impacts.
By fostering partnerships among civil society, government, and private sector actors, EA advocates for policies that support climate-resilient agriculture and natural resource governance. Ultimately, the program aims to build adaptive capacity at household and community levels, contributing to national and global efforts to combat climate change while securing sustainable food systems.
