Network & Coalition

Environmental Alert plays a key role in orchestrating strategic networks and coalitions that amplify civil society voices, strengthen advocacy, and foster joint action on environment, natural resources, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and forest restoration. By hosting and coordinating multi-stakeholder platforms, we promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and collective influence on policies and practices that affect communities and ecosystems.

The ENR-CSO Network is a broad coalition of civil society organisations working to advance natural resources sector. The Network mobilises members for joint lobbying, advocacy, information good governance, policy reform, and improved service delivery in Uganda’s environment and sharing, capacity building, and engagement in policy processes at both national and sub-national levels.

PROLINNOVA Uganda is part of a global learning network that promotes local innovation in ecologically oriented agriculture and natural resource management. The platform supports community-led experimentation, farmer innovation, multisector collaboration, and documentation of context-specific solutions that improve livelihoods and sustainability.

The UFWG brings together forestry stakeholders, including NGOs, community groups, research institutions, and forest user associations, to influence forestry policy, monitor implementation of the National Forestry Policy/Plan, and promote sustainable forest management. The group fosters stakeholder dialogue, technical support, and coordinated action for better forest governance and accountability.

The RECSO Network connects organisations, academic institutions, and individuals working to promote renewable energy access and sustainable energy solutions across Uganda. Through collaboration, training, advocacy, and engagement with government and partners, RECSO advances clean energy alternatives for cooking, lighting, and productive use.

The Running Out Of Trees (ROOTs) Campaign is a nationwide initiative focused on forest restoration and landscape recovery. ROOTS mobilises government, civil society, private sector, schools, and communities to plant indigenous trees, promote sustainable land use, and raise awareness about deforestation and climate resilience. Its activities include nationwide tree planting and partnership building to reverse forest loss.
