KASTI Project

Environmental Alert in partnership with African Evangelistic Enterprise (AEE), Uganda Water and Sanitation NGO Network (UWASNET) and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) are implementing a WASH project titled “Kampala Slum Transformation Initiative (KASTI).” This is a Water Aid Uganda funded project which will contribute to improved access to WASH facilities and information services and strengthening of partnerships, among others. Environmental Alert’s contribution to this project specifically lies in creating awareness and sensitization about WASH and the operating policy and legislative environment as well as fostering community empowerment to actively participate and influence service delivery in WASH. EA employs the Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA) to citizen empowerment by raising public awareness about policies, rights and obligations, laws and regulations and best practices in expression of community rights. The project is implemented in parishes of Kamwokya I, Bukesa, Mengo, Kisenyi III of Central Division and Banda, Bukoto 1, Mbuya 1 and Mbuya II for Nakawa division.
