Environmental Alert (EA) in partnership with WWF-UCO with financial support from NORAD is implementing the second phase of the Clean Energy Project with a goal of “Communities living in the Albertine Graben have adopted sustainable and renewable energy alternatives to reduce dependency on biomass for their energy needs.” One of the key objectives of this project is to ensure Government and private sector have put in place an enabling framework that supports increased financing/investment for sustainable and renewable development.
To achieve this, EA commissioned a consultant to conduct a study on current Financing & Investment in the energy sector in Uganda. Through interactive consultations, the consultant engaged key stakeholders in the renewable energy sub sector to generate information which was compiled into the study report that further informed the position paper.
On 17th July, 2018, EA will hold a validation workshop to validate the draft CSOs and Networks position paper on the current Financing & Investment in the energy sector in Uganda. The workshop will be held at Mt. Zion Hotel, Kampala starting 8:30am to 11:30am. Attendance is by invite.
