Environmental Alert in partnership with WWF-UCO with financial support from NORAD is implementing the second phase of the Clean Energy Project with a goal of “Communities living in the Albertine Graben have adopted sustainable and renewable energy alternatives to reduce dependency on biomass for their energy needs.” One of the key objectives of this project is to ensure Government and private sector have put in place an enabling framework that supports increased financing/investment for sustainable and renewable development.
To achieve this, EA commissioned a consultant to conduct a study on current Financing & Investment in the energy sector in Uganda. Through interactive consultations, the consultant engaged key stakeholders in the renewable energy sub sector to generate information which was compiled into the draft study report.
It’s upon this background that key stakeholders in the renewable energy sub-sector are meeting to validate findings of the study on current Financing & Investment in the energy sector, scheduled for Thursday 17th May, 2017 at Imperial Royale Hotel starting from 9am to 1pm.. The output from the meeting will further enrich the final document that will be used towards advocating for increased financing and investment for sustainable and renewable energy development.
